EASY Crochet Wrap-Up Shawl

ONE SIZE FITS ALL

3–4oz. Pull-skeins Jack Frost Wintuk knitting worsted type yarn

“K” crochet hook

CHAIN 160 (LOOSELY)

Row 1: 1 dc in 7th ch, * ch 2, 1 dc in 3rd chain, repeat from * to end of row.

Row 2: Chain 5, turn, 1 dc in the dc of the row below, * ch 2, 1 dc in the next dc, repeat from * to end of row (DO NOT PUT A DOUBLE IN THE CH 5 SPACE, YOU WILL HAVE ONE BLOCK LESS EVERY ROW.)

Repeat Row 2 for Pattern.
Work even in pattern until 10 blocks remain. End off.

Work a shell stitch border on top ONLY as follows: * 1 sc in block, 5 dc in next block, repeat from * to end.

FRINGE the other 2 sides. To make fringe, wrap yarn around a 6″ cardboard. Cut 1 end. Hold 6 pieces together and make a slip knot in each block.

Poncho 3 color

ONE SIZE FITS ALL

GAUGE: 5-1/2 stitches to 2 inches.

MATERIALS:
2–4 oz pull skeins 3 different colors–Jack Front Wintuk Knitting Worsted type (use yarn double)
OR
8–4 oz pull skeins Jack Frost Wintuk Bulky (use single)
“K” crochet hook

NOTE: Keep in mind that a poncho has 4 points (front & back) and 2 shoulder points. You are working from the TOP down.

CHAIN 56. Join with a slip st to make a circle.
Row 1: Ch 3, * 3 dc in the next st, 1 dc in each of the next 13 ch sts, repeat from * twice. 3 dc in the next st, 1 dc in each of the last 12 sts. Join with a slip st to the top of ch 3.

Row 2: Slip st across 1 st, ch 3, 5 dc in the next st. (This will be the center stitch of the back point, and all increases will always be made in the center st of the previous increases.) 1 dc in each of the next 15 sts, 3 dc in the next st (center of shoulder point), 1 dc in each of next 15 sts, 5 dc I n next st (center of front point) 1 dc in each of next 15 sts, 3 dc in the next st (center of shoulder point) 1 dc in each of the last 14 sts. Join with a slip stitch to the top of ch 3. (Always join end of row with a slip stitch to the top of ch 3.)

Row 3: Slip st across 2 sts, ch 3; continuing in pattern, work 3 dc in each center st of the four points.

Row 4: Slip st across 1 st, ch 3; continuing in pattern, work 5 dc in the center st of back and front points, and 3 dc in the center of shoulder points. (This will make your front and back points longer.)

REPEAT ROW 3 & 4 until Poncho is a total of 22 rows

Put Fringe around bottom. Work 2 rows of sc around neck to finish. Block if necessary with a damp cloth..

Tassled wrap around shawl

ONE SIZE FITS ALL

3–4oz. Pull-skeins Jack Frost Wintuk knitting worsted type yarn

“K” crochet hook

CHAIN 220

Row 1: 1 dc in the 4th ch, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in the next ch, repeat from * across.

Row 2: Ch 4, turn, 1 dc under ch 1 space, * ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 space, repeat from * across, ending ch 1, 1 dc under ch 4 space.

REPEAT ROW 2 FOR PATTERN.
Work even for a total of 22 rows.

LAST ROW: Ch 5, 1 sc in space, * ch 5, 1 sc in the next space, repeat from * around entire piece.

FINISHING: Gather ends together. Make 2 tassels by wrapping yarn around a 10″ piece of cardboard. Slide off cardboard. Tie one end with a separate piece of yarn and attach to gathered end. With a separate piece of yarn, tie tassel together 1″ below end.

Block if necessary.

Fringe poncho

ONE SIZE FITS ALL

3–4oz pull skeins, Jack Frost Knitting Worsted type — “K” Crochet Hook

CHAIN 78. Join with slip st.

Row 1: Ch 3, 1 dc in 2nd ch, * ch 1, 1 dc in 2nd ch, repeat from * to end, ending in ch 1. Join with a slip st to second ch of the ch 3.

Row 2: Slip stitch in the next chain, ch 3, 1 dc under ch 1 space, * ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 space, repeat from * to end, ending in ch 1, 1 slip st in second ch of the ch 3.

Row 3: Increase Row. Repeat row 2 for PATTERN, working 2 dc (with ch 1 in between) in every 3rd space.

Row 4: Work even in pattern.

Row 5: Repeat row 3.

Repeat last 2 rows ONCE.
Work even in PATTERN for 6 rows.
Work an INCREASE ROW, increasing in every 10th space.
Work even in pattern for 3 rows.
Work an increase row increasing every 10th space.
Work even in pattern for 7 rows.
End off.

FINISHING: Work 1 row of dc around neck, working 2 dc in each block.

FRINGE: Wrap yarn around a 9″ cardboard. Cut at one end. Holding 6 pieces together, make a slip knot in each block.
